Description
We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team located in Irvine. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the accounting industry. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be tasked with the responsibility of handling various accounting tasks, including the processing and maintenance of AP records. This role also includes the resolution of discrepancies related to purchase requisition, purchase order, and invoice processing.
Responsibilities:
• Handle various accounting tasks such as the input, maintenance, and processing of AP records.
• Process invoices, expense reports, contracts, Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, electronic payments, and checks issued by the company.
• Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records.
• Resolve discrepancies related to Purchase Requisition, Purchase Order, and invoice processing.
• Assist other department staff with any AP related issues.
• Review AP payment documents and check figures for mathematical accuracy.
• Ensure that records are properly coded to align with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure that the records contain sufficient and appropriate back up and appropriate authorization for payment.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
Requirements • Proficiency in account coding is required for accurate financial record keeping.
• Familiarity with accounting software systems is needed to streamline and automate processes.
• Experience with ADP Financial Services is preferred for efficient payroll management.
• Knowledge of Concur is beneficial for managing expenses and invoices.
• Proficiency in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is essential for integrating and managing major business processes.
• Familiarity with accounting functions is vital for maintaining accurate financial records.
• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) management is crucial for tracking and processing outgoing payments.
• Understanding of accrual accounting is required for recording transactions when they occur, not when cash changes hands.
• Auditing skills are important for reviewing financial records and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
• Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions is necessary for electronic funds transfer.
