SSM Health is looking for a passionate nurse to join our Clinic Float Pool!

This position travels between clinics in the Greater Fond du Region to provide additional support. Nurses work with 15 departments in total. This opportunity is travel based and employees receive a float differential and mileage reimbursement!

This is a full time, benefits eligible position scheduled 32 hours per week primarily on the day shift. Hours are typically 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, but may vary depending on department needs between the hours of 6:30 am and 6:30 pm. This position has Mondays off each week.

Nights and weekends are not required unless employees choose to pick up shifts at these times! Holidays may be worked if clinics are open.

Primary duties across all departments include message review and triage, chart preparation, appointment scheduling, and patient care. Care may be procedural and include phlebotomy, suture/staple removal, vitals, etc.

The ideal candidate would be willing to travel, flexible, have excellent communication skills, type 32+ WPM, and be comfortable with Phlebotomy skills or willing to learn. If you enjoy a bit of variety, this role is the fit for you!

Candidates must be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or hold an LPN licensure to qualify.

Job Summary:

Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse or physician.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider, registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. Performs select clinical duties.

  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.

  • Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.

  • Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.

  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Constant standing and walking.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.

  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.

  • Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Occasional lifting/moving patients.

  • Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors.

  • Occasional driving.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
