We are offering an opportunity for a Controller or an Assistant Controller seeking the next step in their career in the hotel industry to join our team based in Flushing, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our accounting systems and procedures. You will be instrumental in maintaining account reconciliations, controlling cash flow, and managing budgets and forecasts.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations ensuring efficiency and accuracy

• Conduct monthly and year-end financial closings

• Maintain account reconciliations with precision

• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial operations

• Manage all federal and state tax returns

• Control cash flow to ensure smooth financial operations

• Review and analyze revenues and expenses, working with department heads to implement improvements

• Responsible for creating and managing budgets and forecasts

• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of the accounting systems and procedures

• Maintain controls in the Food & Beverage area to ensure compliance and efficiency

• Utilize skills in Accounting Functions, Budget Processes, Hotel management, Cash Flow Management, Account Reconciliation, Monthly Closings, Financial Forecast, Financial Reporting, and Expense Management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting capacity in the Hotel Industry

• Proficiency in various accounting functions.

• Experience with budget processes and cash flow management.

• Knowledge of hotel management.

• Ability to conduct account reconciliation and monthly closings.

• Experience in developing financial forecasts and financial reporting.

• Strong skills in expense management.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.

• Ability to manage and lead a team.

• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

• Ability to understand and follow company policies and procedures.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.

• Solid understanding of business principles and practices.
