The Maintenance Lead will be responsible for providing day to day maintenance support for the manufacturing facility and may install, maintain, or repair various machinery or physical structures. This person will take the lead on setting up outside repair services and manage various projects such as new machine installs, machine moves, or other various projects though out the shop, must be able to multitask and stay on track.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain organization of the maintenance department.
  • Move with a sense of urgency to complete projects.
  • Respond to repair requests in a timely manner.
  • Lead projects for new machine installs or moves
  • Establish and execute preventative maintenance schedules on CNC equipment, air compressors, manual equipment, fork trucks, etc.
  • May oversee the custodial team.
  • Coordinate with vendors related to machine repair, installation, and improvement.
  • Manage and schedule repair services. Ensuring we are receiving competitive pricing.
  • Operate equipment such as fork trucks, scissor lifts, etc.
  • Provide plant maintenance that may require knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, CNC machines, grinding equipment and other various machinery.
  • Ensure safety policies are being met.
  • Oversea hourly custodians and other maintenance support staff.

Competencies and Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in a related role.
  • Commercial/Manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic blueprints.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead people.
  • Interpersonal and relationship skills to effectively collaborate with all levels across the organization. Willingness to work on multiple projects at one time.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplined.

     

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent with 5 years of relative experience. Must have experience from a manufacturing setting, including CNC Mill/Lathes.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.  

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The plant atmosphere may be dusty, dirty and have various levels of temperature
