General Dynamics Mission Systems RF Architect- Space Satellite Systems in Florham Park, New Jersey
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this PositionDuties and Tasks:
As a RF Architect at GDMS, you will be responsible for architecting advanced solutions for Space Satellite Systems, leading an RF team to achieve programmatic goals that can both meet the emerging markets fast pace and withstand stringent physical constraints and environmental conditions of launch and space.
You will collaborate with System Engineering to ensure seamless integration, while working with Mechanical Engineers to address thermal management challenges. Additionally, you will partner with Manufacturing to ensure process capabilities are aligned and with Supply Chain to mitigate any potential sourcing issues.

1. In this role, you will have substantial contribution to:
- Technical content of new business proposals
- Shaping major market opportunities
- Analysis and/or definition of electrical requirements
- Providing important shifts in technological landscape & implications to the company
- Communicating risk trades at the system architecture level & providing mitigation strategies to the team
- Travel may be required: <10%.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Preference will be given to individuals with hands-on expertise in three or more of the following areas:
- RF, EM, and thermal simulation and modelling
- >15years of RF product development for performance oriented applications
- Systems-level understanding of RF front-ends into complex digital radio systems
- Architecture/requirement understanding from Antenna through the ADC
- Space Payload electronics
- TS/SCI Secret security clearance within 24 months of hire
- Awareness of how Engineering contributes to Business achieving objectives
- Risk Mitigation: ability to identify potential problems well in advance and determine appropriate risk mitigation
- Proactive teammate: i.e., motivates collective action towards goals: doesn't allow activity to stall.
Target salary range: USD $191,051.40/Yr. - USD $211,947.60/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
