Preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and being responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be essential for this role. To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Located in the South Jersey area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly general ledger journal entries, bank reconciliations, balance sheet, income statement analysis, weekly payroll for multiple entities

• Maintain statistical records used in analysis and reporting

• Prepare clear and concise explanations of variances,

• Assist in the preparation of auditing schedules.

  Requirements

The ideal Staff Accountant candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education.

Other requirements for the Staff Accountant position include and are not limited to:

• 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred

• Advanced proficiency using the Microsoft Office 2013 suite (primarily Excel)

• Experience in the distribution business preferred

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly

• Strong organizational skills and problem solving abilities
