Jabil is adding an Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Quality Technician to our Quality Department on the 404 shift in Florence, Kentucky. The Quality Department is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying all incoming parts and materials meet customer specifications throughout the assembly and integration phases of production for various Advanced Compute Platforms.
SUMMARY
The IQC Quality Technician leads and motivates a team of IQC Inspectors to ensure incoming materials are inspected in compliance with work instructions, specifications, and customer requirements. Respond to supplier quality issues, design and drive containment actions, and initiate supplier corrective actions validation reports to prevent recurrence and meet all required quality standards. Works closely with suppliers and the quality engineering team to identify and resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The IQC Technician is crucial for maintaining high-quality standards, reducing defects, and ensuring seamless integration of materials into the production process.
Hourly Compensation:
$25.88 USD - hourly (including shift differential)
Shift / Schedule:
Quality Technicians are required to work 12-hour shifts on the following schedule:
404 Shift: (weekend, night schedule) 6:00PM to 6:00AM, Friday through Sunday, and Thursday through Sunday every other week.
For example
: 36 hours week 1 (Friday - Sunday), 48 hours on week 2 (Thursday - Sunday), 36 hours week 3 (Friday - Sunday), etc.
Occasional overtime may be required, depending on business needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as a liaison between IQC Inspectors, Quality Supervisors, and Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) to provide routine support to inspectors, non-conformance handling, and continuous improvement.
Design and coordinate effective containment actions for supplier quality issues on the production floor, validate supplier corrective actions and its sustainability.
Coordinate First Article Inspection (FAI) for materials with applied corrective actions from the supplier.
Performing root cause analysis and implementing improved processes that will improve metrics (Quality / Efficiency).
Completes level 1 and 2 Layered Process Audits (LPA) as needed.
Assign and change Inspection Plans to incoming materials in SAP.
Assist Quality Supervisors with completing high-priority action items across their team. Provide data to SQE in a timely manner.
Perform daily incoming inspection activities when necessary.
Provide training to new IQC Inspectors to ensure Standard Operating Procedures and quality standards are thoroughly understood.
Provide instruction to IQC inspectors when new requirements are released from DCC, work cell, and/or customers.
Prioritize and assign routine tasks to inspectors, while monitoring progress and status.
Ensure compliance with company policies, adherence to work instructions, and maintenance of clean and organized production areas.
Ensure inspection results are documented and recorded into SAP with accuracy.
Escalate issues and quality trends to department leadership, in times of doubt or regarding urgent matters.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, suppliers and the general public.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts based on data, draw valid conclusions and create simple reports.
Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.
Basic PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabils software packages.
IPC-A-600 Acceptability of Printed Boards certification.
Ability to write simple correspondence. Read reports and understand visual aids.
Basic knowledge of 8D, A3 methodology and Quality Tools.
Ability to work under tight time deadlines with frequently changing priorities.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with a vast variety of situations with resilience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
