Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant provides support to the Medical Director and Nurse Practitioner providing administrative and certain clinical duties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support and adhere to the NPI Code of Ethics, work rules, policies, plans and procedures to promote a safe and secure environment for the residents, visitors and employees of New Paths.
- Schedule appointments.
- Maintain documentation in the client's electronic record.

``` 4. Taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, preparing clients for examination, drawing blood, administering medications as per direction from Medical Director and Nurse Practitioner. 5. Record patients' vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.

``` 6. Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height. 7. Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician. 8. Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician. 9. Collaborate with Health Service Coordinator as needed. 10. Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies. 11. Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies. 12. Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses. 13. Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms. 14. Schedule appointments for patients MAT & H&P's 15. Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as giving injections.

``` 16. Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission. 17. Sign-up for PCP 18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma.
- Medical Assistant Certification (required in the 1st year of employment)
2 years experience in a medical office, SUD preferred.
