Robert Half File Clerk in Flint, Michigan

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity at our healthcare and social assistance facility in Flint, Michigan. The File Clerk position focuses on maintaining an efficient and accurate filing system, ensuring all customer records are up to date and easily accessible. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our team and the satisfaction of our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and categorize all incoming customer files

• Manage and update our filing system to ensure all customer records are current and easily retrievable

• Respond to telephone inquiries regarding customer files, and direct calls to the appropriate department as necessary

• Oversee the transfer of records to the Health Information department from various locations

• Communicate agency policies and procedures to staff as required

• Ensure all customer information is kept confidential, in compliance with relevant laws

• Conduct regular checks for filing inaccuracies and rectify any issues found

• Forward relevant information to programs, agencies, and the State as necessary

• Understand and adhere to the functions and organizational structures of CMH and the provider panel

• Other assigned duties in line with maintaining an efficient and accurate filing system. Requirements • Applicants should have a thorough understanding of file systems and their management.

• Practical experience in filing is a must, ensuring the proper organization and maintenance of crucial documents.

• Proficiency in scanning documents, including the ability to handle equipment and software, is required.

• A background in healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with the industry's specific needs and challenges.

• Candidates should be detail-oriented, capable of managing and organizing large volumes of data without errors.

• The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion is crucial in this role.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for maintaining accurate records and liaising with various departments.

• Candidates should have strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.

• Applicants must have a proactive approach to problem-solving, capable of identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate.
