DESCRIPTION
Supervises and/or participates in the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical wiring, apparatus, traffic control systems, fixtures, motors, industrial instruments, and other equipment under the jurisdiction of the city; performs related work as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and participates in the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of wiring systems, electrical motors, transformers, wiring, conduit, lighting fixtures, electrical control devices, meters, electronic timing control and electrically operated devices.
Supervises and assists in erecting signal poles and boxes, string cables and wires, splices and repairs underground and overhead lines.
Installs and maintains motors, meters and generators, dresses, and polishes commutators, seats and replaces brushes; performs complex conduit bending operations; does other electrical work and some mechanical work in repairing and replacing parts.
Installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains all metering controls, recorders, venturi meters, orifice meters, ring balance meters, magnetic flow meters, sludge density electronic meters, laboratory equipment, and other electronic equipment.
Makes emergency repairs and adjustments; locates and clears short circuits.
