Cummins Inc. Machinist - Level III, (Machine Operator) (Rotational Shift - Evening Shift) in Fletcher, North Carolina

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Machinist - Level III, (Machine Operator) to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Process Improvement : Identifying and reducing manufacturing constraints, solving problems, and providing feedback for preventive maintenance contribute to continuous process improvement and operational excellence.

  • Team Collaboration : Communicating effectively with your team and participating in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives fosters a collaborative environment that drives improvements in quality, safety, and process efficiency.

  • Coaching and Mentoring : Instructing and coaching less experienced team members enhances their skills and knowledge, contributing to a more capable and versatile workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Controls Safety : Recognize and address hazards related to electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls in the manufacturing environment. Incorporate safe practices and procedures into your daily work plan to reduce injuries and ensure a safe machine environment.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge : Demonstrate a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. Implement changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet functional needs and drive continuous improvement.

  • Tool and Fixture Design : Select appropriate work-piece-holding devices to effectively secure parts and products during manufacturing. This ensures that functional requirements are met and enhances the quality and efficiency of the production process.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

Evening Crew: Shift Hours 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM

Operators at this cell will work twelve-hour days on a [2 on 3 off] [2 on 2 off] [3 on 2 off] work schedule which gives operators every other weekend off with the maximum number of three days worked in a row

Desired Job Skills:

  • Familiar with ABB robot controllers

  • Basic understanding of Excel spreadsheets

  • Basic gage understanding, bore gage, dial indicators and hardness testers.

  • Verification of key process controls; furnace temperature, oil temperature, carbon potential, verify correct patterns for row loaders, verify compliance to production schedules.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
