Special Information
- This position is located on NAU\'s Mountain Campus in Flagstaff. The position is in the Office of Alumni Engagement, which is part of the larger Advancement \| Foundation division. Generally, this job is done from a traditional office setting (in-person and virtually, following NAU\'s Hybrid work model), but occasional travel and work during nights/weekends is required.

Job Description
Alumni Engagement is essential in supporting the University\'s mission and in the success of NAU\'s comprehensive campaign, serving as a key driver in building a thriving Lumberjack community and growing an inspired and informed pipeline of support and involvement. Programming focuses on cultivating relationships, celebrating post-graduate success, creating engaging and informative experiences, providing relevant benefits and services, and offering meaningful opportunities for students, alumni, and donors to connect and give back. Alumni Engagement operates as an integral part of the Advancement \| Foundation division and works collaboratively toward both engagement and fundraising goals. Alumni Engagement oversees an integrated event strategy that deepens connections with alumni and donors.
The Alumni Engagement Manager creates capacity for increased alumni engagement and volunteer programming within Advancement \| Foundation and collaborates to support overall engagement efforts. The Alumni Engagement Manager drives the development and growth of the Lumberjack alumni network by creating opportunities for career and social networking and philanthropic engagement, primarily through event management and volunteer coordination. This position also supports the development and outreach of NAU Near You, the regional and affinity-based alumni chapter program that empowers alumni to access the Lumberjack network where they live and work. Alumni chapters and identity-based affinity groups are led by alumni volunteers and are created to support a Lumberjack\'s life-long relationship to NAU through in-person/virtual social events, networking activities, giving initiatives, and meaningful volunteer and ambassador opportunities.
This role works with the Director and Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement to develop strategies that improve student and alumni success and support donor relationships. This position partners closely with Advancement \| Foundation colleagues and university partners to execute high-impact volunteer and donor stewardship events and serves as the subject matter expert for event planning throughout Advancement \| Foundation.
The position reports to the Assistant Director, Chapters and Volunteer Outreach.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Engagement: Chapter and Volunteer Program Support and Event Management - 40%
Work closely with Director, Assistant Director, Advancement colleagues, and campus partners to coordinate NAU Near You, an alumni chapter program connecting alumni within key geographic areas and with shared areas of interest and/or identities.
Responsible for assisting the Assistant Director with program assessment, design, implementation, and annual evaluation.
Organize meaningful and informative chapter and volunteer engagement activities that build connections and promote a culture of philanthropy, working occasionally with campus partners to plan and execute events and activities.
Engage volunteer chapter leaders in the planning and implementation of engagement events and ambassadorship of the University\'s mission and fundraising priorities.
Identifies and develops partnerships with campus stakeholders to facilitate engagement on their behalf and to create continuity of alumni volunteer opportunities across campus that can be accessed both in-person and virtually.
Provide thorough, timely, and professional correspondence with all partners during planning for, and in follow-up to, all chapter activities.
Assists with ongoing alumni volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training.
Assists the Assistant Director with annual volunteer training and recognition events that educate and support a volunteer\'s ambassadorship of NAU and highlight the impact alumni volunteers have on student success, fundraising efforts, and alumni programming.
Collaborates with the communications team to create brand- compliant print and digital communications, including invitations, emails, and flyers.
