Position Overview:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance of facilities throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee all facets of daily maintenance, repair and cleaning duties for 5-6 regional MOC properties
Repair and/or coordinate repairs including, but not limited to:
Electrical repairs to appliances, circuits and fixtures
Plumbing repairs to water and sewage systems, including plumbing fixtures and cleaning of stoppages
Carpentry repairs to structural and framing and finish work
Replacement of flooring, glass, screens
Repair broken locks or doors, dry walling
Painting, both interior and exterior
Light repair of roofing, concrete and masonry
Garden/yard upkeep such as mowing lawns, collecting trash, etc.
Replace light bulbs, HVAC filters, batteries, etc.
Coordinate with program staff to schedule building needs and building readiness in conjunction with staff and client schedules.
Maintenance of building systems, such as security, phone, access and limited LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi network to accommodate day-to-day move/add/change needs
Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarms, CO detectors, emergency lighting)
Routine inspection of a broad array of required building and grounds conditions, and required furniture, tools, vehicles and machines, as needed to support activities in each building.
Maintain communications with staff, vendors, management and others using email, daily update of ticketing system requirements, in person communications, and other communication as required.
Collaborate with workers and other professionals during repairs, installs and other projects as necessary
Assist VP of Facilities in local initiatives such as implementation and update of site-specific emergency plans, review and maintenance of varied local fleet needs, status updates and varied needs of local construction and realty projects, etc.
Maintenance of local workspaces, on site utility areas, parts, tools, supplies and small engine maintenance in support of all Facilities needs and initiatives for each site.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
High School diploma or equivalent
Must have acceptable Background Record Check
Valid MA driver’s license and reliable transportation, with ability to travel within the facilities throughout the day as needed
Must have acceptable MA Driver’s record
Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
Basic knowledge of carpentry, mounting, installations, and repair of common building systems and structures
Experience and able to use hand tools, electrical tools, and yard machinery (e.g. lawnmower, snow blower, leaf blower, string trimmer, etc.)
Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
Display strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Must be dependable, organized and self-motivated
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb and work from a ladder, while practicing proper safety
Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, lift items and/or equipment, either on own or with the assistance of other lifting/moving equipment
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Compensation:
A salary within the range of $24.52 to $33.17 per hour will be provided to the successful candidate having met the minimum requirements for the position consistent with the MOC compensation philosophy.
