STARTING RATE: $36.72 to $42.00 per hour depending on experience plus adder for Per Diem

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Registered Nurse provides long-term and rehabilitation care to residents providing routine daily nursing care according to the resident’s care plan. An RN works as a team member under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor and Director of Nursing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with RN Supervisor to ensure the best possible functions of the assigned unit

  • Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.

  • Prepares and administers, and records prescribed medications

  • Records patients’ medical information and vital signs.

  • Assesses the patient’s ability to do routine daily tasks.

  • Recognizes and manages geriatric syndromes common to older adults, including cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, hematological, musculoskeletal, endocrine, neurological, psychiatric/psychosocial, integumentary, sensory, and pain problems.

  • Prepares equipment and aids physicians during the examination and treatment of patients

  • Communicate with family members regarding patient

  • Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms.

  • Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on the assignment setting.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree from an accredited school of nursing

  • Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York requires

  • Education or experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred

  • Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable

  • Strong customer service skills and compassion
