The Transport Maintenance & Asset Reliability Senior Manager will be instrumental in advancing safety, asset reliability, and operational efficiency within the transport business. This role requires a proactive leader who will develop and implement comprehensive reliability strategies in collaboration with Transport Operations leaders. By leveraging maintenance data and best practices, the Senior Manager will work to achieve sustained low unscheduled downtime (UDT) across the network.

Key responsibilities include coordinating training and optimal asset management strategies with suppliers and OEMs, conducting root cause failure analysis, and establishing maintenance cost benchmarks to ensure high equipment reliability and efficiency. The Senior Manager will drive identifying and managing critical spare parts, develop processes for tracking shared spare parts, and oversee the maintenance and reliability budgeting process across fleet locations.

This position demands strong leadership and communication skills to teach and mentor teams in best maintenance practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The Senior Manager will partner with technology to optimize maintenance and reliability applications while ensuring compliance with safety standards in all processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of transport maintenance and reliability processes, enabling them to serve as a subject matter expert and effectively support operational and maintenance teams.

Ultimately, the Transport Maintenance & Asset Reliability Senior Manager will lead initiatives that permanently reduce unplanned downtime, enhance operational efficiencies, and drive the strategic direction of maintenance and reliability practices across the organization.

RESPONSBILITIES:• Develop Reliability strategies for assets utilizing maintenance data in collaboration with the regional reliability and maintenance supervisors, develop and implement best practices that can be applied across the network for long-term sustained low unscheduled downtime (UDT).• Leverage the best operational and maintenance practices from site to site, as well as manufacturer upgrades and modifications that will increase reliability.• Coordinate with suppliers, OEMs, and external resources to deliver training and optimal asset management strategies.• Teach, coach, mentor, and support best maintenance & operational practices across sites. Leverage internal knowledge.• Study and establish appropriate levels of maintenance cost to keep equipment reliable and at a high operational efficiency level• Review and assist in establishing a sound process for root cause failure analysis, establishing triggers, and ensuring high levels of quality in the execution of this key tool as well as promoting exchange of best practices across assets.• Assume responsibility for personal compliance with all safety requirements and include safe practices in all implemented processes.• Develop and conduct assessments and provide comprehensive reports on the gaps in desired performance levels versus actual.• Provide leadership, vision, teamwork, and communication to execute key Maintenance & Reliability strategies.• Lead, develop, direct, and drive operational and maintenance strategies for assets utilized in Transport & Rail business that will permanently reduce unplanned downtime and increase operational efficiencies.• Through criticality assessments (A, B, C) and failure history, work to identify critical spare parts required based on business impact.• Become the T&R subject matter expert on transport maintenance and reliability processes and equipment, utilizing learned skills to assist in training and coaching the operations and maintenance teams on the most efficient practices, methods, and procedures.• Support the maintenance group on rebuilds and modifications of key assets.• Drive strategies utilizing a sense of prioritization that will lead to spare parts definition and appropriate strategy to maintain.• Develop processes that facilitate maintaining and tracking critical spare parts that might be shared between sites.• Responsible for the support of the maintenance and reliability budgeting process for all fleet locations.• Leverage Supply Chain to negotiate with suppliers and OEM's to build and maintain the most effective use of our Project Capital and Expense budgets. This process will also include the bid and sale process for all retired assets.• Develop and maintain a process to analyze MPC and 3rd Party Garages to right-size the amount of spend at each of our fleet locations.• Responsible for leading all capital and expense projects at fleet and garage locations.• Partner with T&R Technology and IT to develop and maintain all M&R applications, hardware, and processes leveraging technology solutions.• Provide leadership for T&R's management of change (MOC) process leader.

• This position requires approximately 25% travel, with additional travel possible as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s degree required, engineering or relevant technical discipline preferred• Ten (10) years of broad experience in logistics and maintenance operations (transportation, refining, pipeline, terminal operations and associated support functions (e.g. Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, etc.)• Experience implementing reliability management systems and technological improvements preferred.
