POSITION SUMMARY:
The Central Monitoring Desk Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Central Monitoring Desk (CMD) to ensure optimal performance, safety, and customer service in terminal operations. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage a team of analysts, execute operational plans, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs and oversees the work activities of the Central Monitoring Desk (CMD) Team to ensure premier customer service, operational excellence, and product quality by effectively analyzing and monitoring terminal operations and load rack movements. Provides guidance, coaching, mentoring and support to foster a high-performing team environment.
Accountable for onboarding, training, coaching, mentoring, of new CMD analysts.
Maintains appropriate records of terminal operations and employee management, reviews and updates CMD policies and procedures, and ensures adherence to alarm management protocols, including tank level monitoring and remote alarm notifications.
Analyzes and optimizes terminal operations using PI, Fuel Facs, camera systems, and associated software to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations. Provides strategic direction to modernize operations, champions process improvements, proposes changes, and drives policy adjustments to align with emerging technologies and organizational vision.
Collaborates with Operations and business partners to evaluate and pursue potential new business opportunities, ensuring proper remote monitoring and control in alignment with L&S Terminal guidelines.
Primary liaison with Marketing, IT, Commercial, MPL, and other business partners to ensure the CMD is strategically positioned to capitalize on business and operational opportunities.
Manages on-call 24/7 response to emergencies, providing guidance and instruction during abnormal conditions or terminal malfunctions, and coordinating notifications to operations and business partners as necessary.
Drives continuous improvement by understanding root causes of incidents, manages adjustments to remote monitoring practices to help drive gap closures.
Responsible for business continuity for all central monitoring activities.
Collaborates with Terminal Operations, Terminal Services, and other stakeholders to plan and execute field projects and maintenance, reviewing Management of Change (MOC) documents that affect the CMD, and ensuring proper execution of shutdown and startup activities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
Eight (8) years industry experience, including five (5) years of leadership experience.
General experience in commercial, operations, technology or engineering
