Andgar Food Processing Equipment LLC Press Brake Operator in Ferndale, Washington

Andgar Food Processing Equipment division has an immediate opening for a press brake operator in Ferndale, WA. This division works with a variety of metal products for food processing equipment manufacturing.  Most of the work is on food-grade stainless steel and aluminum products.  Andgar company culture prizes honesty, integrity, humility, and teamwork. Under the supervision of the shop lead, this position operates shop equipment including brake press, in addition to various saws, cutters, presses, rollers and other shop equipment and tools. This position may perform partial finishing, cleaning as well as other production activities, including but not limited to cleaning/maintaining equipment and shop floors while adhering to Andgar company policies and standards.  Actual duties may include some or all duties listed below. Pay, Incentives, and Benefits:

Specific duties include:

  • Material Preparations such as, bending, rolling, grinding, and organizing parts with like job numbers   
  • Assist Material Handler in moving materials to designated workstations or storage areas
  • Perform housekeeping functions; clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment and work areas
  • Provide general labor support services to all applicable personnel and disciplines as required
  • Sets, stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template
  • Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die
  • Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations
  • Organize parts and prepare them for the next process
  • Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine
  • Operate press brake with supervision until fully trained  
  • Adheres to assigned work schedule (attendance and punctuality)
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, maintaining a clean work area
  • Seeks assistance as needed and asks questions in a timely manner and to appropriate staff
  • Additional duties as assigned

Employee Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Current Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • CPR & First Aid, Aerial Work Platform, Forklift, Rigging & Signaling Training within 12 months of hire
  • Ability to learn manufacturing safety practices
  • Demonstrate ability to use basic shop tools, tape measure, angle grinder, drill, etc.
  • Mechanical aptitude and sound reasoning skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Ability to follow instructions with appropriate level of self-direction
  • Ability to interact with coworkers, customers and management on a positive level
  • Responsive to inter-company personnel
