WORK ENVIRONMENT: SCS was started in 1996 by Daryl and Linda Synstelien, providing care for individuals with disabilities in their own home. Now providing disability support and care in multiple homes, SCS maintains that family-like focus of relationship-centered care. WHAT THIS POSITION DOES: This position provides caring support for individuals with disabilities or personal needs, in their home. This may include developmental disabilities, mental health disabilities, physical disabilities, or disabling emotional concerns. Through a caring relationship, the Direct Support Caregiver provides instruction, guidance, encouragement, and physical assistance for a client to address all their activities of their daily living. Areas of client support include teaching skills of daily living, providing personal cares, household chores, and community activities.
