WORK ENVIRONMENT: SCS was started in 1996 by Daryl and Linda Synstelien, providing care for individuals with disabilities in their own home. Now providing care in multiple homes, SCS maintains that family-like focus of relationship-centered care. WHAT THIS POSITION DOES: This position provides caring support for individuals with disabilities or personal needs, in their home. This may include developmental disabilities, mental health disabilities, physical disabilities, or disabling emotional concerns. Through a caring relationship, the Direct Support Caregiver provides instruction, guidance, encouragement, and physical assistance for a client to address all their activities of their daily living. Areas of client support include teaching skills of daily living, providing personal cares, household chores, and community activities.
