Our team of 34 board-certified physicians and 9 advanced practitioners at 14 convenient locations are dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of all types of cancers and blood disorders. Our providers are supported by a team of oncology certified nurses, laboratory technologists, and support staff, with one goal in mind, to provide personal care and support so patients can focus on healing. Alliance Cancer Specialists (ACS) is currently seeking an Accountant I to support the month-end close for ACS including Balance Sheet and P&L reviews, journal entries, account reconciliations, and other general accounting activities. Accountant I will also support the timely and accurate input of A/P vendor invoices to be paid by the US Oncology Network. Advise up-line management regarding the practice management financial programs in our multi-site organization. The Accountant I will support financial goals for the various operating units, maintains general ledger and related systems for accounts receivable and accounts payable. He/she completes general accounting functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Additionally, the Accountant I is responsible for: * Maintains general ledger, including preparing financial schedules, writing journal entries, maintains cash clearing account reconciliations, etc. * Leads the coordination and processing of A/P for all divisions within the organization. * Supports monthly close of ACS and related management companies in an accurate and timely manner (4 business days). Ensures accruals are appropriately made each month. Reviews G/L coding on invoices before checks are released to ensure accurate coding. * Works with State Controller and other practice management to obtain all necessary information and explanations. Ensures compliance with Management Services Agreements for the practice. * Ensures all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and supported by valid detail. * Reviews monthly reporting packages for all divisions for accuracy, reasonableness, and completeness. * Responds to Controller inquiries in a timely manner. * Provides various practice specific reporting as requested by Controller. Ensures accuracy and completeness of fixed assets records including depreciation. * Understands and confirms accuracy of discounts/reserves for ACS monthly. * Assists in the annual budgeting process for all divisions. * Maintains working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to assigned responsibilities. * Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, finances, and cost-effective health care delivery issues. The ideal candidate is an experienced mentor, highly organized, with the ability to be flexible and multi-task. Additionally, he or she will offer: * Accounting, finance, analytical and business acumen * Balance sheet reserve measurement & accounting * Strong attention to detail and fortitude to perform the work necessary to achieve winning results * Demonstrated leadership capabilities * Effective communicator * Continuous improvement mindset * Proactive, determined, initiative-taker, able to handle multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency * Comfortable and capable of working independently while assuming full ownership of role and responsibilities Position requires: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (with appropriate experience) * Practice Management/Health Care related experience preferred * 3+ years of progressive Accounting experience * Strong foundation in accounting required, but candidate must also demonstrate strong analytical skills * CPA and or MBA preferred, though not required * Work in-perso a total of 4 days per week at the Central Business Office (Trevose-Feasterville). There may be need upon occasion to visit another site/office for meetings.
