Amergis RN Psychiatric in Fayetteville, North Carolina
The Psychiatric/Mental Health (PMH) Registered Nurse,requires a wide range of nursing, psychosocial, and neurobiological expertise.PMH nurses promote well-being through prevention and education, in addition tothe assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance usedisorders. The nurse demonstratesability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner anddemonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination ofpatient care. The PMH RN works in avariety of settings and provides comprehensive care to individuals, families,and communities when applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement andevaluate patient care in a psychiatric facility setting
Partners with individuals to achieve their recovery goals
Provides health promotion and maintenance
Conducts intake screening, evaluation, and triage
Provides case management
Teaches self-care activities
Administers and monitors psychobiological treatment regimens
Practices crisis intervention and stabilization
Engages in psychiatric rehabilitation and intervention
Educates patients, families, and communities
Coordinates care within interdisciplinary teams
Evaluates signs and symptoms indicating physiologic andpsychosocial changes in the patient’s condition
Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient carerequirements
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patientenvironment
Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes inpsychiatric and medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursinginterventions
Has strong awareness and understanding of suicideprevention
Understands community resources and outpatient programs formental health and substance use disorders
Adheres to Facility/Client procedures and protocols at alltimes
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Current Registered Nurse Licensure in-state practicing
Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Position Details:
Nights 7p-7:30a every other weekend (36/48 rotation)
Every other weekend
First 2-4 weeks are orientation M-F 8a-5p
Requirements:
Must be licensed as a RN for minimum 1 year
Must be able to attend orientation first 4 weeks M-F 8A-5P (no call outs, late arrival, or time off allowed)
Must be comfortable floating to ANY and ALL units
Must be comfortable working with adolescent patients
Must be comfortable working in a psychiatric setting which may include caring for aggressive, combative, and mentally ill patients
Must attend Pre employment screening which is held Mon-Thurs 10a or 1pm located at the facility (please include availability in the submission) please do not schedule travelers who have lived outside of NC on Wednesdays (they will require fingerprints which are not conducted on Wednesdays)
Time off policy:
No time off is allowed within the first 4 weeks of start date! NO EXCEPTIONS
No call outs or missed days allowed during orientation
No time off is allowed during holiday block out period (Nov 17th– Jan 3rd)
No more than 3 days requested off per contract
