Eaton Corporation Operational Excellence (OPEx) Manager in Fayetteville, North Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Operational Excellence (OPEx) Manager. The opportunity is located at our facility in Fayetteville, NC. Relocation offered to candidates residing in the US and live outside 50 miles of the facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

As a member of the plant leadership team, our OPEx manager will support in the creation of business strategies and operational execution for the design and assembly of Power Distribution Control Assembly division. You will drive the creation and implementation of strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, improve quality and meet or exceed financial goals, including multiple product lines manufactured in Fayetteville. This leader will champion the implementation of Continuous Improvement and Lean throughout all functions of the business and lead the manufacturing engineering functions and activities for the facility.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop ELS strategy, define actions, and coordinate cross−functional activities to implement an Eaton Best Practice Lean System to Continuously look for and identify Business Improvement Initiatives that support Eaton’s Corporate Vision and Goals.

  • Help to create the future state as it relates to shortened value streams, manufacturing strategies, cross-functional processes, and the establishment of uniform policies and procedures

  • Provide Off site and On Site Training sessions.

  • Ensure the necessary audits of the plants’ operations to evaluate opportunities for implementation of various ELS improvement initiatives

  • Benchmark other plants and companies for best in class processes and suggest implementation opportunities and implement the best practices if applicable.

  • Establish and maintain Manufacturing Engineering Strategies and Continuous Improvement plans to support the daily production requirements of the plant and to ensure cost out and standardization of processes.

  • Establish and execute Lean/Six Sigma/CIF for the Plant to meet key operational metrics, including growth, cost out and cultural change plans. Aligns improvement strategies to business profit plan for delivery, cost, and quality improvement impact.

  • Partner with operations and facilities on site capital planning strategies to plant performance.

  • Interface with corporate functional and business leaders as well as counterparts at other Eaton divisions and groups. Participation in division and corporate ELS and other corporate groups/councils

  • Lead change to improve organizational effectiveness. Drives the change management necessary to implement effective program and a continuous improvement focused culture.

  • Manage third party venders in the facility and equipment maintenance and drive improvements in equipment usage.

  • Drive plant strategy planning, standard work and process improvement.

  • As member of the leadership team drive engagement and support Eaton values and philosophy.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum Five (5) years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering management.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited institution

  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma techniques.

  • Robust analytical skills and understanding of problem solving techniques/ tools including Six Sigma, Industry 4.0, 8D, QOS, balanced scorecard, and goal setting.

  • Strong knowledge of business systems and manufacturing processes

  • Must be able to travel as necessary (up to 10%) to effectively interface with customers, suppliers, other Eaton locations, and other required contacts to manage or participate in company related projects, activities, or other job related assignments.

  • Ensure compliance where applicable with systems and /or programs such as, but not limited to ISO 9000-2000, ISO 14001, NEMA

  • Participate in and demonstrate understanding of other programs such as Eaton Business System (EBS), Eaton Lean System/Six Sigma (ELSS), Eaton Quality System (EQS), MESH
