Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer/ Fayetteville, NC in Fayetteville, North Carolina

Description: Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team in Fayetteville, NC. This role focuses on utilizing technology and engineering principles to streamline our manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient use of time, resources, and energy. The ideal candidate will have experience in precision machining and be adept at working with a variety of manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Interpret engineering drawings to guide the manufacturing process.

- Select appropriate tools and set tolerance levels for machinery.

- Operate mills, lathes, CNC machines and other manufacturing equipment.

- Develop and implement manufacturing process plans (MPPs) in collaboration with Industrial Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Production stakeholders.

- Ensure detailed work instructions and other shop floor documentation support rate production.

- Provide shop floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.

- Monitor and cultivate improvements in quality, schedule, and cost performance.

- Support training activities for new and existing manufacturing engineering team members.

- Continuously improve manufacturing processes to reduce cost, span time, and defects.

- Communicate with customers and vendors to understand and meet product specifications.

- Implement standard procedures to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

- Deliver products within approved timelines and budgets.

Basic Qualifications:

- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

- Certifications in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or mechanical engineering.

- Proficiency in manual machining, prototyping, and development programs.

- Strong knowledge of the product design process.

- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.

- Experience with process improvement and Lean manufacturing principles.

- Ability to interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.

- Effective communication skills, including technical writing and presentations.

- Ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues from basic to complex.

- Ability to lead and influence teams across multiple locations.

Desired Skills:

- Knowledge of additive manufacturing and advanced materials concepts.

- Experience with design for manufacturing/assembly and design to cost principles.

- Ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.

- Experience with manufacturing automation concepts and implementation.

- Proficiency in manufacturing simulation/modeling tools.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
