UPMC Horizon - Shenango Valley and UPMC Horizon - Greenville are hiring a Diagnostic Technologist to join the Imaging Team! This regular, full-time role will work variable shifts including every other weekend and rotating holidays.

As a Diagnostic Technologist, you'll play a vital role in delivering precise, high-quality imaging services while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Identification & Protocol Adherence: Ensuring accurate patient identification through two patient identifiers and adhering to universal protocols to guarantee the highest safety standards during procedures.

  • Thorough History Review: Assessing patient history and physician orders while tailoring departmental protocols to achieve optimal diagnostic results.

  • Contrast Administration & Documentation: Administering PO and rectal contrast in accordance with physician orders and department policies, while accurately documenting patient information in electronic records.

  • Imaging Workflow Management: Coding and tracking exams through RIS systems, networking data to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and ensuring accurate charges for completed procedures.

  • Expert Radiography Techniques: Independently performing diagnostic radiography procedures using established protocols and operating advanced imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, and document high-quality image data.

  • Compassionate Collaboration: Building strong relationships with patients and colleagues by demonstrating care, dignity, and respect while efficiently working as part of a multidisciplinary team to expedite patient care.

  • Independent Judgment & Initiative: Applying critical thinking and professional judgment to adjust protocols and utilize ionizing radiation safely and effectively for diagnostic purposes.

In this role, you'll combine technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to make a meaningful impact in healthcare diagnostics.

Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date. Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire date. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
