Delaware North Security Officer, Finger Lakes Gaming in Farmington, New York

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a part-time Security Officer to join our team at Finger Lakes Gaming in Farmington, New York. As a Security Officer, you will maintain a safe and secure environment for our guests and team members. Shift: Saturday & Sundays (11:45pm-8:00am)

Pay

$20.00 - $20.00 / hour

Responsibilities

  • Greets guests positively and timely, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner

  • Conducts cash escorts as required

  • Demonstrates skill in dealing with customer complaints, using active listening.

  • Skills to defuse difficult and sometimes emotionally charged situations to maintain the customer’s goodwill

  • Team-oriented; ability to work effectively with others to ensure a smooth Operation

  • Highly motived and takes initiative

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Observes, handles, and reports procedural violations and illegal activity

  • Ensure that identification is checked for proper admittance to the gaming floor

  • Maintains crowd control as required

  • Maintain a secure presence on the gaming floor

  • Patrol parking lot and ancillary buildings as assigned

  • Defuse customer profanity to ensure a friendly environment

  • Role model the Guest Path Universal Service Standards and Operational Standards, interacting positively through relationships with guest and fellow associates displaying genuine concern and mutual respect for people’s needs

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must possess a NYS Security Guard license

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, pass an MVR check and take a drug test

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing

  • Must be able to be licensed by NY State Gaming Commission

  • Ability to work across departmental lines

  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when handling guest complaints/issues

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Law enforcement or related experience a plus

  • Gaming background a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time

  • Ability to communicate via two-way radio

  • Ability to stand, reach, and bend frequently

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to grasp/handle guest items and various equipment

  • Vision must be sufficient that the Officer is not restricted in the performance of duties day or night
