Actalent Phlebotomist (Float) in Farmington Hills, Michigan

Job Title: Phlebotomist (Float)Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist (Float) to join our dynamic team. This role involves drawing, processing, and packaging patient blood samples, with a need for flexibility and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Draw patient blood samples, process the samples, and package them properly (30-50 times per day).

  • Communicate with clinic staff daily to organize and schedule blood draws and arrange the pick-up/shipping of samples to the medical testing site in Novi/Farmington.

  • Commute to multiple offices as needed, traveling throughout Metro Detroit including Livonia, Riverview, Dearborn Heights, Canton, Allen Park, and Westland. Mileage will be expensed.

  • Adapt to schedule changes that may occur the morning of.

Essential Skills

  • At least three years of experience as a Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant.

  • Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification or certificate.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with 200+ solo blood draws.

  • Knowledge of the order of draw and BD Vacutainer order of draw tube colors for multiple tube collections.

  • Strong proficiency with straight needles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.

Work Environment

The team wears navy blue scrubs. When working offsite, you will be accompanied by another phlebotomist. Hours range from 8am - 5pm, with some variability depending on the day and location. This role offers great hands-on phlebotomy experience in outpatient settings and raises at 6 months.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00
