AUTOMATED CONTROL SYSTEMS Control Panel Assembly & Wiring Technician in Farmington Hills, Michigan
Full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions
We are looking for a motivated, outcome-oriented Control Panel Assembly & Wiring Technician who is eager to work and grow in our business. The ideal candidate is someone who has proven experience in all aspects of panel assembly and wiring, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a desire to work in a continuous learning environment.
To be successful in this role, you must have good communication skills, work under minimum supervision as well as take and follow directions from the lead and work cohesively with the engineering and purchasing staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reading and understanding of electrical schematics and symbols used for industrial control panels, work orders, bills of material, handwritten notes or verbal instruction to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.
- Construct control panels and enclosures from layout schematics.
- Assemble electrical components and complex wiring layouts on electric units.
- Set up of testing systems and preparation for shipment.
- Analyze layouts to ensure proper dimensioning & fabrication of control panels / enclosures.
- Wire and build to order electrical control panels: power, control circuits, junction boxes, and subassemblies from electrical schematics.
- Fabricate or form parts and structures according to specifications, using drills, calipers, cutters, or saws.
- Utilize small hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
- Complete point to point wiring, and install a wide variety of electronic components including PLC's, relays, lights, switches, etc.
- Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan, review, or clarify work activities or to resolve assembly or production problems.
Travel to customer sites for field installation and commissioning of equipment.

Job Qualifications:
Basic:
- Should own basic set of hand tools (screwdrivers, wire cutters, etc.)
- Willingness to work scheduled hours -- Overtime available.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, deadline driven, dynamic environment.

Preferred:
- 2 years of related experience
- Knowledge of electrical standards
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
