With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system. _Position Summary:_ Hartford HealthCare is seeking an experienced ITS Application Leader to oversee a portfolio of Ambulatory Clinical applications, lead the supporting team and align ITS priorities with organizational goals. The Ambulatory Director is accountable to key leaders in the organization, helping define and govern the priorities and activities of the ITS Division. He/she serves as an advisor to the organization on application strategy and delivery. This role is accountable for executing the Ambulatory Clinical Care Systems goals of the healthcare system and Ambulatory leadership. As a leader in the ITS Department, the Ambulatory Director often oversees complex programs involving multiple teams and many users. The Ambulatory Director is responsible for the success of his/her team and the success of the department, helping analysts and managers balance the daily requirements and strategic priorities of the organization. Manages staff according to HR policies and procedures and serves as an H3W leadership role model for all staff and colleagues. _Position Responsibilities:_ Key Areas of Responsibility Oversee all aspects of Ambulatory Clinical Care Systems, including Epic (Ambulatory, Beacon, Research, Transplant, Healthy Planet), Senior Services and related 3rd party applications. Partners with Ambulatory operational leaders to ensure that application development and deployment is performed in an efficient, cost effective and technically sound manner while meeting the needs and goals of the organization. Collaborates closely with the System Director to establish and execute application strategies that align with organizational goals. Leads strategic projects, working closely with Ambulatory operational leadership on deployment of new technologies, Epic optimization and new service offerings. Operates as a thought leader for the health care system on Ambulatory technologies and the use of technology to best meet the needs of users and achieve enterprise goals. Oversees support of ongoing operations, upgrades, optimizations, and project work. Establishes policies, procedures and standards to measure and monitor the success of applications and production processes; continually strives to improve existing policies in order to provide top-tier service excellence to our operational partners; identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans when appropriate. Serves as an escalation point for all Ambulatory project and operational issues; maintains HHC’s high standard for exceptional customer service & communication to all staff while providing resolutions; informs customers of work progress, ensures timeliness and accuracy. Builds and directs the Ambulatory Clinical Care Systems team: determines team structure; hires staff as needed; ensures proper onboarding, staff engagement and retention. Ensures a common vision is shared and maintained across all teams. Creates an environment that empowers staff to continuously develop performance improvement processes using Lean tools. Solicits input in daily operations and projects to improve all Ambulatory Clinical Care Systems functions. Assists staff in developing new skills and applying them to the work place. _Working Relationships:_ · This Job Reports To (Job Title):HHC VP Enterprise Applications and Products · # Workers Responsible For: o # Direct Reports:2 o # In-Direct Reports:25-30 · Nature of Supervision:Has full responsibility for a department 24/7. Determines its long-term goals and objectives, policies and procedures. Prepares the department’s annual budget. Responsible for all personnel actions and decisions (hire/fire, performance evaluations, counseling/disciplinary, training, payroll, etc.) · Internal:HHC Staff, Ambulatory Operations, Providers* · *External: *Vendors, Auditors, Government Agencies, Patients *Education · Minimal: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, HealthCare Management, Business Administration, or related field. Extensive experience may substitute for education. · Preferred: Master’s Degree in HealthCare Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field. Experience · Minimal: o Prior experience implementing and supporting Epic Ambulatory solutions essential o Three (3) years’ experience of Healthcare IT Management in an Ambulatory related role. o Two (2) years’ experience of providing leadership. o Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on-time and on budget · Preferred: Five (5) to Seven (7) years’ progressive Ambulatory and Information Technology management experience. Licensure, Certification, Registration · Minimal: Epic Certification recommended, PMP · Preferred: Epic Certification recommended Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: · Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use). Expert at managing Ambulatory workflow to assure optimum results.
