WestRock Company Quality Control Tech in Farmingdale, New York

GENERAL PURPOSE: Inspect, at various stages of the finishing process, printed slit material/rolls) to ensure they meet both the customer\u2019s and MPS\u2019s quality and production standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

\u2022 Records and maintains accurate finished goods inspection records.

\u2022 Inspects finished goods using AQL sampling plans.

\u2022 Performs Roll count verification when needed.

\u2022 Inspects visually for printing, die cutting and unwind to established standards.

\u2022 Inspects jobs prior to shipping (accepting or putting on Q.C. Hold).

\u2022 Ensures material placed on Q.C. Hold is properly documented and moved to the Hold Area.

\u2022 Communicates with Supervisors, slitters, and packers to correct/sort, when defects are found during the finishing process.

\u2022 Checks job bag for all standards and specifications required for that operation before releasing.

\u2022 Conducts line clearance and documents before starting material inspection.

\u2022 Generates and applies core labels to properly identity finished rolls.

\u2022 Prepares customer\u2019s pre-ship samples when required.

\u2022 Performs other job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

\u2022 Must have good communication skills and the ability to give directions when required.

\u2022 Must have knowledge of GMPs and SOPs for Quality.

\u2022 Must understand basic math and be able to use a calculator.

\u2022 Must be able to read and write in English.

\u2022 Must pass basic reading test.

\u2022 Must pass ruler test.

\u2022 Must pass color hue test.

\u2022 Must be able to differentiate between acceptable and unacceptable material.

\u2022 Must be able to maintain good attendance.

\u2022 Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.

\u2022 Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

The expected pay range for this position is $18-22/hour base on experience.
