Precipart Quality Control Inspector in Farmingdale, New York
Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is looking to hire a two highly skilled and experienced Quality Control Inspector who will play a crucial role in ensuring that all precision mechanical components meet the highest industry standards and customer specifications. This position involves performing detailed inspections, testing products, and verifying that all components meet the specified criteria and regulatory requirements. The Quality Control Inspector will work closely with the production team to identify and address any quality issues promptly, ensuring the delivery of superior products to our clients. Your expertise will be vital to maintaining our reputation for excellence in manufacturing and delivering high-quality products.
Shifts Available:
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (includes a 10% shift differential)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Use precision measuring instruments and devices to inspect and measure parts, assemblies, and materials for conformance to specifications and standards to determine approval or rejection of parts.
Perform first piece, first article, in-process, and/or final inspection.
Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
Use SPC techniques as necessary.
Examine incoming items or materials for damage in transit or from previous operation. This includes comparing quantity, part number and revision of shipment received with procurement data or parts produced for accuracy.
Recommend modifications to quality standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of the equipment capability.
Test and inspect work in process; record and evaluate test and inspection data.
Establish optimum/alternate inspection tooling and techniques to improve throughput, efficiency, and performance. Assist production supervisors to maximize product reliability, utilization, and minimize cost in operation when required/requested by supervisor.
Monitor data trends from in-process inspection and SPC data collected for manufacturing improvement and heightened product reliability
Record inspection results and evaluate data disposition information; Submit deviation reports to appropriate Supervisors.
Identify and initiate Nonconformance Reports for any suspect or proven non-conforming product found in the operation and their respective department.
Responsible for conforming with the company’s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent
5+ years of relevant Inspection experience in a manufacturing setting
Experience using measurement tools and equipment, including running a CMM and Vision System
Must be able to read blueprints for mechanical components
Good understanding of GD&T
Able to inspect to tolerance of +/-.0002
Must have good mathematical ability (i.e. geometry, trigonometry)
Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience generating NCR's
Must be able to work independently, methodically and meet deadlines
Must be able to remain focused while performing high volume of inspections
Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, conflict resolution, organization, and decision-making skills
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, verbally and written, effectively with team members and cross-functionally

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
Experience with general inspection for gears and materials
Proficiency in First Article Inspection Reporting (FAIR)
Hands-on experience with calibration
Advanced understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Strong knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) techniques
Pay Range: $24.00 to $35.00 an hour
