The Business Management department at Farmingdale State College invites applications for a Lecturer in Business Management. Excellent communications and collaboration skills are required. Ability to teach from among a range of courses such as Entrepreneurship, Sales Management, and related areas. Lecturers will be expected to teach in traditional classroom settings as well as hybrid and online formats. The college also offers courses at an off-campus extended site in Eastern LI, and individuals hired into this position may be scheduled to teach courses at this location.

Lecturers are responsible for teaching 15 contact hours per semester and service to the department and the school which would include activities such as advising students and serving on departmental committees. Business Lecturers are also responsible for maintaining their professional qualifications (Instructional Practitioner or higher) as defined within the Business department's accreditation faculty qualifications documents). The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest and high level of competence in teaching.

    Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree or higher (M.S./ MBA/ or PhD/DBA) in Business or a related field. Candidates will be expected to maintain qualifications as an Instructional Practitioner (or higher, e.g. SP, PA, or SA) as per the Business Management department's accreditation faculty qualifications guidelines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College teaching experience in a business school setting.

  • Professional work experience related to sales or entrepreneurship.

  • Ability to teach in at least two or more of the following areas in addition to the Introductory sales and entrepreneurship courses: Advanced Selling, Sales Management, Technology entrepreneurship, Social entrepreneurship, Sales or entrepreneurship practicum.

    Additional Information:

This is a 10-month UUP faculty position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Tuesday, November 19, 2024, and ending Monday, December 2, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Open Until Filled with review of applications to begin on January 15, 2025.

  • SALARY: $65,000 + $4,000 in downstate location pay = $69,000 Total Compensation.

  • ANTICIPATED START DATE: Fall semester 2025
