Farmingdale State College seeks an Associate Dean to join our School of Health Sciences. The Associate Dean plays a pivotal role in supporting the School of Health Sciences and ensuring its continued success. Reporting directly to the Dean, you will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities designed to enhance faculty and student experiences, uphold accreditation standards, and drive strategic initiatives. This position will represent and perform the duties of the Dean during their absence, ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making within the institution.
Responsibilities:
Faculty Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to new faculty members, fostering their professional development and integration into the School of Health Sciences.
Oversee Faculty Contract Renewals: Manage the process of faculty contract renewals, including reviewing related paperwork and performance evaluations. Address any issues that arise by bringing them to the attention of the Dean and Human Resources.
Issue Resolution: Address and resolve concerns from both faculty and students with a focus on maintaining a positive and productive academic environment.
Identify and Address Labor Relations Issues: Proactively identify labor relations concerns and refer them to the appropriate office for resolution, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
Accreditation Oversight: Monitor and ensure compliance with accreditation standards, preparing and reviewing reports to maintain program excellence.
Internship & Practicum Oversight: Oversee the development and monitoring of internship and practicum sites, ensuring quality and relevance in practical training experiences.
Articulation Agreements: Develop and manage articulation agreements with other institutions to enhance educational pathways and opportunities for students.
School Initiatives: Drive and implement school-wide initiatives aimed at improving academic programs, student outcomes, and overall institutional goals.
Campus & Community Engagement: Represent the School of Health Sciences at campus-wide events and foster strong community relations to support the School's mission and visibility.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in a discipline of study offered by the School of Health Sciences or related field.
Strong record of teaching, scholarship, and service to meet tenure requirements within one of the academic health science areas.
Administrative experience at the level of department chair or higher.
The ability to establish relationships with healthcare agencies at multiple levels.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with accreditation.
Experience with clinical placements.
Grant writing experience.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time M/C position.

SALARY: $120,000/year. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.
