The Accounting Assistant will assist the Student Government Association (SGA) Accountant with managing the daily financial operations and performing general administrative tasks for the Farmingdale State College Student Government Association. The SGA is a separately incorporated 503(c) nonprofit organization affiliated with Farmingdale State College.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and regularly update the Excel Club Budget Database to track all financial requests, approvals, and check distributions.
Scan approved expenditure documents with proper supporting documentation for submission to the Fiscal Agent for check issuance and/or entry into QuickBooks.
Code, record, and file hard copies of Approved Expense Authorization Forms.
Allocate approved budgets to the appropriate clubs and programs.
Develop and lead financial training sessions for all clubs and programs funded by the SGA.
Perform general administrative tasks as needed.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a Business Discipline awarded by December 2024.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Able to work independently, in a team, and in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to anticipate needs and maintain professionalism.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with Student Government and Student Government sponsored programs and clubs.
Familiarity with SUNY Policy 3900 and 3901 (Mandatory Student Activity Fee).
Experience working in an office environment.
Extensive experience managing and entering large volumes of data in Excel.
Familiarity with Financial Statements.
Experience monitoring Budgets and adherence to Financial Policies.
Experience working at Farmingdale State College.
Graduate of Farmingdale State College.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time UUP position.
For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, November 1, 2024, and ending Thursday, November 14, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

SALARY: $50,000 + $3,400 in downstate location pay = $53,400 Total Compensation.
