The ATE Training Instructor plays a pivotal role in assessing and addressing training needs across various markets. This position ensures that ATE team members are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively and deliver outstanding customer service. Responsibilities include developing and implementing training plans to keep team members up to date with the latest technology while also providing training on existing resources.

As a subject matter expert, the instructor will collaborate with the training team to create materials such as new hire training modules, job aids, interactive or microlearning videos, and Learning Management System (LMS) content.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct online and in-person training on ATE Mobile Services, including ADAS calibrations, diagnostics, scanning, connector/wire repair, programming, and relearns. Additionally, provide ADAS tool training with an emphasis on proper maintenance and tool protection.

  • Conduct Online Orientation: Facilitate new hire orientation sessions through a virtual setting, ensuring a seamless and engaging onboarding experience.

  • Prepare new hires to feel confident, productive, and efficient in their roles by providing thorough training and support before they enter the field.

  • Train team members on customer service processes, including effective communication, documentation, and billing practices.

  • Administer assessments, prepare reports, and offer coaching guidance to trainee leadership to ensure proper support once technicians return to their market.

  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with host-shop teammates to promote effective collaboration and support in the field.

  • Partner with the host-shop team to perform calibrations, diagnostics, repairs, and other tasks on live repair vehicles within the training environment.

  • Work with ATE Field Leadership to determine required training topics and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Maintain detailed records of all training activities within the LMS.

  • Organize team-building events and provide general support for technicians during their travel to Farmers Branch and/or other locations.

  • Ensure a clean and organized working environment, reflecting the standards and professionalism of the ATE Training Facility.

  • Educate on procedures for obtaining technical support.

  • Collaborate on training projects as needed.

  • Deliver additional training on assigned topics as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of automotive background servicing and diagnosing automotive systems

  • 2+ years working as an ADAS Calibration Technician, with advanced knowledge in ADAS and electrical services, equipment/tooling, and procedures.

  • 2+ years of training experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols related to ADAS technologies

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt training approaches to different audiences and learning styles

  • Proven training and instructional design skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain organization and focus while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Exude professionalism and demonstrate passion for the industry and a commitment to excellence.

  • Must possess the ability to perform all services provided by ATE to effectively facilitate training and support.

  • 25% of overnight travel may be required, including air travel.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs., stand for extended periods in automotive shop environments and classroom settings.

  • A safe driving record and a valid Driver’s License required
