Essentia Health Registered Nurse - Radiology in Fargo, North Dakota

Job Description

Education Qualifications:

Radiology RN team does multiple tasks including:

making calls to patients about upcoming exams, ensuring proper prep is followed

following up on the patient’s medications,

working with patients and anesthesia for those patients requiring sedation

contacting patients that would need a new H&P prior to their exams with Anesthesia

continuously working the Mamo Patient list for those patients are meeting their screening mammograms

Assist with scheduling Breast Biopsy and Thyroid Biopsy patients

Assist the second nurse with access ports, when need arises

Assist the second nurse with placing urinary catheters, when need arises. This better aligns the Radiology nurses with following the hospital guidelines of having a second nurse assist with placing a catheter.

Having the third nurse will allow for additional assistance with HSG’s, myelograms and cardiac CTA’s.

Assist scheduling diagnostic US/CT/MRI/NM/PET/CT/General Radiology

Provide on-call coverage on weekends and holidays

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

  • Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year

East Market:

For SMMC Location, Interventional Radiology (12280) department only:

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year

For Moose Lake Location, Surgery Acute (13410) department only:

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year

Department 12610 (Pacemaker Clinic):

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 3 months

  • Valid driver's license and driving record that is acceptable to Essentia Health insurers

  • Must obtain Wisconsin RN licensure within 9 months

Department 13410 (Surgery Acute):

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) not required

Department 12860 - Interventional Pain Ctr:

  • RN license in the state of Wisconsin or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire

Department 12500 (Virginia)

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within one year of being oriented to the ED

Brainerd Lakes:

Department 13400 (Surgery):

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) not required

West Market:

Detroit Lakes Location - ICU Only:

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year

Detroit Lakes - SWAT/Resource:

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 1 year of hire or transfer
