Job Description:
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for dispatching driver schedules/routes and working with customers and warehouse operations to ensure accurate, timely and efficient operations, while providing a high level of customer service.
Here's what you’ll do:
Responsible for dispatching driver schedules/routes for load pick-up and deliveries and working with customers and warehouse operations to ensure accurate, timely and efficient operations, while providing a high level of customer service.
Ensure timely follow-up, resolution and response to any route planning or delivery timing issues that may arise; work with Transportation Supervisors as appropriate.
Maintain and update the department dispatch/communication log/software according to department procedures.
Ensure information is accurate and up-to-date to ensure drivers understand all requirements for the scheduled delivery/pick-up (i.e., equipment/truck/trailer used, delivery location, pick-up/delivery time and documentation procedures, etc.) at all times during the dispatch shift.
Review, verify and process driver delivery paperwork.
Ensure adherence to company safety and sanitation policies and procedures, as well as all DOT rules and regulations.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and drivers.
May assist with coordinating delivery changes, monitoring on-board computers, log reports and maintenance schedules, and submitting necessary information to payroll clerk.
Work with Transportation/Logistics team to schedule appointments and assist the drivers with questions or issues related to delivery appointments.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Associate's degree (Preferred) in Business Administration or college coursework in Business Administration or Supply Chain or other related area.
High school diploma or GED (required)
Two years of logistics/transportation experience. Must have basic knowledge of dispatch operations.
Good written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills; ability to interact with associates at all levels and external customers.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.
Good problem-solving and follow-up skills.
Working knowledge of logistics operations.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word).
Basic knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and familiarly with transportation systems, Cadec experience preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but may be high in distribution settings. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
