  • Partners with leaders in their assigned Line of Business, Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) Consultants, and other RCA Managers to, depending on the function, oversee the successful creation, implementation, and maintenance of an effective risk management framework.

  • Accountable for effective partnership between the Business Line (BL) and the Lines of Defense (LOD); more specifically, interfacing with business leaders, risk groups, and second LOD teams to ensure appropriate risk management oversight and implementation of Payments Services Enterprise Compliance Risk Assessment (ECRA), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Enterprise Financial Crimes Compliance (EFCC) RCSA Programs.

  • Lead projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable international, federal, state and local laws and regulations in the ECRA and EFCC RCSA.

  • Proactively assess risk in business process and work with business lines on developing controls for the ECRA, EFCC RCSA and RCSA, as necessary.

  • Facilitate the identification of gaps and drive solutions to mitigate risks resulting from inadequate internal processes and/or controls, as well as identifying areas for process or control enhancement and clearly communicate and assist in implementation, as appropriate.

  • Ensures the active identification, response and/or escalation of risks as appropriate.

  • May influence policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business line and risk teams to maintain the formally documented and comprehensive risk framework and control environment program (ECRA/RCSA/EFCC RCSA) that encompasses appropriate identification, assessment of risks with the aligned Risk Assessment Units (RAU) and controls. This may include but is not limited to risk/control record creation, risk/control alignments, desktop procedures, process maps, metrics with guardrails, on-going monitoring routines and issue escalation.

  • Create and maintain risk & control frameworks in alignment with the U.S. Bank Enterprise Compliance Program, U.S. Bank Risk Management Framework, Business Line Control Environment (BLCE) Policy, RCSA Policy, ECRA Procedure, applicable EFCC Policies and all other applicable Risk Management & Compliance (RM&C) Polices.

  • Complete analysis of risk/control environment to determine control environment effectiveness.

  • Ensure formal RAU, Risk, and/or Control documentation is housed accurately within a central repository (Archer/eGRC).

  • Present risk and control framework concerns to the Leadership team.

  • Coordinate and complete routine risk analysis and/or attestation cycles.

  • Research, remediate and/or respond to credible challenges and/or oversight routines from second line of defense (SLOD) partners.

  • Enable and support operational RCSA activities.

  • May be asked to perform special projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.

  • More than six years of applicable experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity and experience of the Business Line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls, particularly Payment Services.

  • Possess a strong understanding of bank related Risk Program frameworks and administration.

  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and payments products including credit cards, prepaid programs, and corporate expense programs).

  • Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and multiple Economic Sanctions laws, including related Canadian and European requirements.

  • Experience with facilitation of risk and control identification with Business Line/First Line of Defense partners

  • CAMS or CRCM designation or equivalent risk management certification preferred.

  • Analytical & problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to review, organize and rationalize large and various amounts of information to draw meaning and measure operations and/or compliance risk during high volumes of change management.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to drive discussions to advise and influence stakeholders.

  • High level of proficiency with communication; emphasis on accuracy, relevancy, and attention to detail.

  • Awareness of and experience with common RM&C Platforms and tools used for data collection, aggregation and reporting.

  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications.

Hybrid/flexible schedule

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $102,340.00 - $120,400.00 - $132,440.00
