Job Summary
*Position can be filled remotely, if you currently live in SD, ND or MN.
Responsible for maintaining and customizing the ServiceNow HR module, including managing security groups and creating/updating record producers. This role involves automating HR workflows, developing reports and dashboards, and ensuring seamless integration with other systems. The associate developer will interact with different department leaders, understand their processes and propose an effective process, update existing processes to enhance user experience, and stay informed about the latest platform updates and best practices. A strong focus will be placed on basic problem-solving, communication and collaboration, and continuous improvement. Responsible for creating and maintaining processes on the ServiceNow platform. Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and tests custom ServiceNow HR applications, including creating and modifying HR case management workflows, HR service catalog items, and HR reports. Stays informed about the latest ServiceNow releases, features, and best practices and attends training sessions and conferences as necessary. Contributes to the ongoing improvement of HR technology development best practices, coding standards, and documentation. Assists in the creation of user documentation and training materials for developed HR applications and modules. Participates in regular code reviews and provides constructive feedback to improve the overall quality of the team's work. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders required.
Key Responsibilities:Security Group Management: Assist in the creation, configuration, and maintenance of security and assignment groups to ensure proper access control for HR users.
Service Catalog Management: Collaborate in creating and maintaining catalog items, ensuring they align with HR needs and provide seamless user experiences.
Direct support of COEs: Interact with HR, Payroll, Employee Health and other departments to understand their business processes and design a effective ServiceNow solution that meets their needs.
Process Automation: Identify opportunities to automate HR workflows and design and update flows, UI actions, client scripts, and UI policies, etc.
Reporting: Develop and maintain custom reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights, ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with business needs.
Continuous Learning: Stay informed about the latest ServiceNow releases, features, and best practices and attend training sessions as necessary
System Integration: Assist in importing data from other systems, and working with IT to export data to external systems as needed.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Test and peer-review configuration, flows, and customizations to resolve any issues.
Documentation: Maintain proper documentation for all configurations, customizations, and enhancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:Proficiency in object oriented programming languages such as JavaScript or C++.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills to collaborate with HR and IT teams.
Willingness to learn and stay updated on ServiceNow HR module enhancements.
Preferred Skills:Experience or familiarity with ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRSD) and related modules.
Knowledge of ServiceNow record producers, business rules, client scripts, and UI policies.
Understanding of ITIL and HR process best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, computer science, data analytics, or related field required.
Prior hands-on experience of basic coding languages including C++, HTML5, and JavaScript required. Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly. Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and organizational skills.
