Actalent Mechanical Product Design Engineer in Fairview, Tennessee

Job Description:

Join a dynamic engineering team to design new products and maintain existing product lines. Capture product requirements, translate them into marketable design concepts, and support new product designs from initial concept to manufacturing implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within an engineering team of mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers.

  • Capture and translate product requirements into marketable design concepts.

  • Research and understand applicable design and agency standards.

  • Engineer and support new product designs from initial concept to manufacturing implementation.

  • Utilize SolidWorks daily for all engineering efforts.

  • Oversee and maintain product BOMs and item masters within the ERP system.

  • Implement knowledge of various manufacturing processes including CNC machining, stamping, injection molding, and die casting.

  • Assist in sourcing manufacturing components.

  • Provide detailed design presentations.

  • Build functional prototypes of new or improved designs as proof of concept.

  • Test prototypes and production designs to ensure viability before production release.

  • Analyze test results and ensure compliance with all deliverables and standards.

  • Oversee production ramp-up and ensure design manufacturability.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.

  • Strong technical skills and understanding of engineering principles.

  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $41.00/hr.
