STARTING DATE: January 2025
SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $95,000 per school year
*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
Definition:
The Assistant Director of Urban-Suburban reports directly to the Director of Urban-Suburban. The Assistant Director collaborates with the Director to ensure effective and efficient oversight of all functions of the department. Additionally, the Assistant Director collaborates with districts, students and families participating in the Urban-Suburban Interdistrict Transfer Program.
Duties:
Assists with the coordination and implementation of specific programs at participating school districts to support common goals/objectives.
Assists with the management of daily operations of program and/or services provided of the Urban-suburban department.
Assists with coordinating and providing information on the program and technical assistance to school district staff.
Assists as a direct contact for RCSD & RTS Transportation partners.
Provides program data management support.
Leads student recruitment efforts and manages social media platforms in collaboration with BOCES Communications department.
Assists with supporting staff at meetings with school administration regarding parent/student concerns and issues.
Assists in the coordination, records process, and placement of incoming students.
Assists with general administration, facility scheduling, budget and internal communication.
Assists in providing leadership, management and guidance to Higher Education and Community Partners.
Coordinates parent meetings and family engagement efforts in collaboration with Education Specialists.
Assists with the development of program literature, newsletters, handbooks, guides, and procedural information.
Provides oversight of Scholarship process.
Assists program director by working in all aspects of the program as assigned and needed.
Qualifications:
Civil Service eligibility as Assistant Director of Programs:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Child Psychology, Social Work, Deaf Education, Deaf Cultural Studies, American Sign Language or a closely related field of study, plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent professional* experience in educational program development and delivery, curriculum development and delivery, training development and delivery, or providing referral services, all of which must be related to youth (ages up to, and including twenty-one (21) years of age); OR,
B. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above, PLUS three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as described in (A) above; OR,
C. An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
*Professional experience does not include clerical or secretarial experience.
Three to five years of successful administrative/supervisory experience.
Knowledge of educational and community-based systems.
Experience with engaging diverse stakeholders through multiple communication platforms.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks in a cross-functional environment.
