Strengthening Families Coach
Location: Fairmont, WV
Position Summary
The Family Coach works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the families being served by the National Youth Advocate Program by assisting the families in life skills and home management. Program will serve Marion, Monongalia, Harrison, Preston, Taylor, and Barbour Counties.

Responsibilities
The Family Coach will perform duties including, but not limited to:
Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies.
Work directly with the assigned Home Based Caseworker and/or Therapist to assist in meeting the needs of the referred client(s).
Assist assigned families with time management, life skill development, transportation, child development education, home management, nutrition, child supervision, and problem solving.
Supervise visitations of children who are not living with their birth families if needed.
Advocate on behalf of the families for the successful reunification and/or prevention of out of home placement of the children living in the home.
Assist and support excellence in public relations with referral agencies, the court system, and system partners.
Work collaboratively with the NYAP team.
Complete all required paperwork per agency policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
21 years of age or older.
High School Diploma or equivalent GED. Associate’s Degree in social services is preferred.
Experience working with troubled and needy youth/families is preferred.
Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
Other Skills
2 years’ experience working directly with youth and families is preferred.
Works well independently and as a team member.
Multi-task efficiently and be flexible in all situations.
Openness to traveling as needed.
Driving and Vehicle Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Reliable personal transportation
Good driving record
Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,00/$300,000 bodily injury liability
