TMC Technologies of WV Corp Software Engineer (NASA SAS) in Fairmont, West Virginia

Job Description TMC provides Systems and Software Assurance Services to the NASA Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Program located in Fairmont, West Virginia. At the NASA Katherine Johnson IV&V Facility, we support NASA's IV&V Program, delivering analysis and verification & validation of safety-critical and mission-critical software for several important NASA programs, including both human and robotic exploration as well as earth and space science collection platforms.

The successful candidate will learn to work independently and as a member of a team in one or more of these IV&V projects or other IV&V Program functional areas.

Candidates will perform system engineering activities related to NASA software systems and analyze NASA software for mission suitability. Activities also include all software lifecycle phases: concept of operations, requirements, design, code/implementation, test, and operations, as well as numerous IV&V analyses, e.g. design analysis, static code analysis, independent test, system modeling, interface analysis. Candidates will also provide specific, detailed information used for assessment of mission suitability and defect correction.

Candidates may provide approval for work products of more junior staff members to be provided to internal or external customers; may review work products of others to measure meeting objectives and schedules. Candidates will apply technical engineering principles, theories, and concepts.

TMC has a need for all levels of Systems Engineers based on knowledge and experience, For Junior Mid level System Engineers, candidates will perform tasks under close supervision and mentorship. Senior to SME level System Engineers may provide guidance for Junior level engineers as well as lead small teams of analysts performing verification and validation analyses.

This is can be a remote position with occasional travel to Fairmont, WV.

Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications:

BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other software-related engineering program

Domain experience/education in space systems, software/system engineering, software safety, OR mission assurance

Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS)

Preferred Skills:

Experience with NASA or military programs involving space domain topics such as propulsion; guidance, navigation, and control; vehicle system management; mission ground operations; flight dynamics; operations; launch operations/processes; software safety; and mission assurance.

Is a self-starter who can work independently, but who also functions well in a collaborative team environment.

Knowledge of UML and/or Rational Rhapsody.

Knowledge of agile practices.

Knowledge of Simulink and MATLAB
