Start Time: Between 9:00 AM & 10:00 AM

Position Summary:

As the Conveyer Technician for Pyle you will be responsible for diagnosing, operating, and repairing voltage deficiencies and other electrical components in conveyor circuits while following all safety protocols. In particular, a heavy focus will be on diagnosing sortation hardware issues to insure that our conveyor line remains functional and routinely inspected to anticipate and solve any potential breakdowns before they occur.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Capable of diagnosing, operating, and repairing voltage deficiencies and other electrical components in conveyor circuits while following all safety protocols per OSHA regulations

  • Inspecting, identifying, and successfully repairing failures without assistance or guidance on the following:

  • Air pressure operating conveyor to include: air lines, pneumatic valves, regulators, brake zones, compressors, etc.

  • Photo eye operating conveyor to include: bands, rollers, drive motors, motor cards, cabling, IOPs, etc.

  • Flow of product movement to include: variable speed controllers, overloads, contactors, fuses, etc.

  • Product jams to include: gravity line efficiency, guard rail positioning

  • Sortation equipment: diverts, transfers, sorters

  • Other material handling equipment: case sealers, carton erectors, vertical lifts, etc.

  • Documenting all findings, measurements, serial numbers, parts numbers, and any other important information as repairs and routine maintenance checks are performed

  • Visually and audibly inspect conditions of conveyor and other material handling equipment components and identify points of concerns

  • Identifying different types of conveyor (slider bed, belt-driven rollers, incline, sorter, divert, etc.)

  • Identifying any missing hardware and components

  • Maintaining/ troubleshooting routine electrical/ burglar/fire protection systems, devices, etc.

  • Willingness/ ability to operate forklifts, aerial work platforms and other operating equipment

  • Willingness/ ability to answer/ respond to after-hours/ emergency calls at responsible property locations

  • Willingness/ ability to work in conjunction and/or supervisor vendor managed performance in a support role

To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:

  • Previous conveyor belt repair / maintenance experience; HS diploma or equivalent

  • Capable of reading and understanding electrical and mechanical drawings

  • Capable of performing the following duties:

  • Overall understanding of surrounding warehouse environment and associated equipment interfacing with equipment being serviced: racking, mezzanine, or other automation

  • Ability/Willingness to answer/ respond to off-hours calls and/or emergencies

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; MS Office experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.

  • Must be able to walk long distances, over diverse terrain, for long periods

  • Must be able to climb ladders, work at height, or roofs when required

  • Viewing PC monitor and using keyboard

  • Using telephone

  • Ability to be on-call and travel to site off-hours
