All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in this job description and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in box 3 & 4, page 1. Workers will perform a combination of tasks involved in the planting, cultivating and harvesting of diversified ground crops. Workers will work in greenhouse planting and transplanting seedlings. Workers will work in a storage building washing, culling, and preparing produce for storage or distribution. Workers may operate trucks, farm machinery, or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid drivers license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers will plant and transplant crops in the field. Workers will perform field work of hand weeding, thinning and hoeing, as well as other duties related to the planting, maintaining and harvesting of the crops. Work is physically demanding, bending, stooping and kneeling for long periods of time will be required. Workers must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds on a frequent basis. Workers will harvest the crops according to the quality and method of the employer. Workers will work in varied weather conditions. Workers must be available to work 9-hour shifts between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday through Saturday and may be requested to work 6-hour shifts between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm on Sunday. Workers will be given at least a 30-minute lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as decided by the workers. Workers may choose where to eat their lunch and return to work after their 30 minutes are up. The daily or weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employers will notify workers of any change to the schedule. Workers must be timely and able to be in accordance with the employers preferred start and end times. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the workers to satisfactorily perform duties described in this job description. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform all duties assigned. Workers must be able to take directions in simple English.
