Job Title: Systems Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, with 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master’s degree. The candidate should have experience with Agile methodologies and be proficient in MagicDraw, SysML, or Cameo. The position requires the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable period of time from hire, and U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
Responsibilities
Develop, deploy, and maintain advanced submarine systems in support of the United States Navy and the Royal Australian Navy fleets.
Participate as a member of an agile cross-functional team.
Independently execute Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities to identify program requirements and support analysis of system design using Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
Draft system requirements in accordance with good requirement practice.
Conduct research on technical implementation and challenges, and utilize information gathered to develop solutions and designs for complex assignments.
Clearly convey concepts and ideas using written and verbal communication skills.
Prioritize competing requirements and tasks while working independently and as part of a team.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
2+ years of job-related experience or a Master’s degree.
Proficiency in MagicDraw, SysML, or Cameo.
Experience with Agile methodologies and working on a sprint team.
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable period of time.
U.S. citizenship.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience independently executing MBSE activities.
Ability to draft system requirements in accordance with good requirement practice.
Shows initiative on assignments and exercises independent judgment.
Ability to conduct research on technical implementation and challenges.
Experience working in a team and training regular systems engineers to use MagicDraw.
Work Environment
Candidates will need to be on site to begin, with potential for more hybrid flexibility later. The work schedule follows a 9/80 pattern.
