Robert Half Corporate Accountant in Fairfax, Virginia

Description

We are seeking a dedicated Corporate Accountant to be a part of our team in Fairfax, Virginia. This role is critical to our operations, and we need someone who has a strong understanding of accounting principles, along with the ability to handle complex financial data. The industry of focus is telecommunications, and the role involves working in a fast-paced environment. The employment type for this role is permanent.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.

• Processing and maintaining accounts payable information.

• Ensuring the accuracy of journal entries and financial statements.

• Managing payroll functions to ensure employee compensation is processed on time.

• Utilizing accounting software systems to streamline processes and procedures.

• Providing support during internal and external audits.

• Analyzing and reporting on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis.

• Improving systems and procedures and initiating corrective actions.

• Establishing and maintaining fiscal files and records to document transactions.

• Offering financial advice to the management team using financial data analysis.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.

• Must have experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP).

• A solid understanding of Finance principles and practices is necessary.

• Experience in preparing and analyzing Journal Entries is expected.

• Must have the ability to manage Payroll effectively.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks is a must.

• Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Must adhere to high ethical standards and comply with all regulations applicable to our industry.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applications.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.

• CPA certification is a plus.
