Associate Electrical Engineer

As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will perform various analyses, design, and/or assembly related to electrical engineering projects. You will develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequence, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. You will collaborate with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Your role will include analyzing electrical circuits to determine root cause and maintaining records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Your Challenge:

  • Collaborate with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products and conduct review of engineering drawings prior to release

  • Uses computer-aided design tools (Altium) to capture and update schematics and layouts based on existing products, incorporating design elements provided by senior design staff. Encouraged to create new designs, improve designs when appropriate.

  • Development and validation of detailed Interface Control Documents (ICD) to meet system level interconnect requirements.

  • Integration of electrical and mechanical parts for customer specific applications, including software and firmware updates as needed.

  • Perform various operational or methods analyses related to MIL and AS9100 standards

  • Coordinate the evaluation of engineering changes and/or other specifications requirements; serves as technical liaison with other engineering personnel such as program management, finance, design, quality, procurement, inspection, and production

  • Establish Manufacturing process flow and work instruction

  • Regular review of electronic components for suitability and compliance to requirements

  • Create and update manufacturing standard procedures

  • Drive continuous improvement in all process areas

  • Use ERP system (SAP) to develop process and process flow improvements including LEAN, where applicable

  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required

  • 1 – 3 years of electrical engineering experience

  • Experience in the design of circuit boards in Altium

  • The ability to layout boards in Altium is a plus

  • Experience with MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-471 is a plus

  • Familiarity with design of network devices (switches and routers) and servers is a plus

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to customer support

  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications

  • Knowledge of basic electronic and mechanical assembly principles

  • Experience with mathematical concepts (probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry) and apply concepts to practical situations

  • Experience with CAD software and continuous improvement

  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must

  • Ability to multi-task and manage various project related duties
