Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union Member Service Representative in Fairbanks, Alaska

Receives and processes member transactions both in person and by mail. Maintains computer files and physical files when necessary to keep accurate records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of customer service experience. Financial institution experience is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient with PC, telephone, 10-key, and other related business equipment and application software and platforms.
  • Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Job Duties 1. Receive and process all member transactions accurately and quickly.

  • Greet all members in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Process cash transactions including deposits, withdrawal share drafts, credit union checks, money orders, and cash advances.
  • Process all transactions from the mail, night deposit, and day deposit.
  1. Maintain accurate computer records on accounts.
  • Post all member transactions on the computer.
  • Once trained - Enter new accounts correctly on the computer.
  • Open Certificates of Deposit.
  • Update addresses and any other changes required as assigned.
  • Close accounts.
  1. Balance work daily. Member Service Representatives must balance 86% of the time per the Teller Outage Standards.

  2. Open new accounts.

  • Determine if a potential member is within the field of membership.
  • Assist members in completing the signature cards.
  • Enter the member information on the computer accurately.
  1. Cross-sell credit union services.
  • Provide routine information on credit union services.
  • Be able to direct members how to obtain these services.
  1. Maintain a secure, clean work area.

7.Perform other related duties as assigned.
