Duties, Responsibilities & Other
Design Phase leader in the development of multiple construction plans for transportation/roadway projects, providing guidance and supervision to junior engineers. Coordinates with project managers while planning scheduling and coordinating design phase tasks related to project scope and deliverables. Good problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills are required. Responsible for quality control, checking computations while reviewing design work and engineering drawings performed by others. Analyze and address technical problems which may involve conventional engineering practice, but also may require innovative solutions with unique approaches. Candidate must have worked on all phases of design and have been involved in industry related services of a project. Broad knowledge of current design policies and practices and the ability to effectively apply this knowledge to the design process. Candidate must be reliable, committed to completing multiple task, have strong time management skills. Have experience in managing tasks and mentoring junior engineers. Experience in MicroStation with GeoPak and/or Open Roads PE license is required
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Appropriate graduate level work. Master's degree preferred. 6 - 10 years of professional experience. PE Required. The target candidate will have experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring projects involving both overhead and underground engineering systems. Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
