West Whiteland Township Senior Accounting Associate in Exton, Pennsylvania

West Whiteland Township is seeking a part-time Senior Accounting Associate who can think for themselves, has strong analytical skills and technical aptitude and wants to make a difference.

The Position:

The Finance Department has five employees who are responsible for all aspects of financial management of the Township, including the financial statements and all associated accounting, financial planning and analysis, cash and investment management, bill payment, payroll, revenue collection and audit support. This will provide the associate with a great training ground due to the broad exposure to many aspects of accounting. The office environment is very busy, and also friendly and interactive, with frequent contact with employees from other departments, as well as residents and vendors. The Accounting Associate will work closely with the Finance Director and team. Primary responsibilities will be to prepare and examine financial records, ensuring records are accurate. Different types of duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Reconciling the company's bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
  • Completing analysis of the employee expenditures
  • Managing income and expenditure accounts
  • Generating the Township's financial reports using income and expenditure data
  • Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations 
  • Accounts Payable and Receivables 

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a self-starter with a sense of personal accountability, good time management and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The ability to engage and communicate effectively and professionally with the public and coworkers is essential.
